The Dustbowl Revival: LA’s ‘Best Live Band’ Coming to the LV (Video inside)
When The Dustbowl Revival brings their rootsy, soulful brand of Americana to the Fowler Blast Furance Room at SteelStacks on February 11, they’ll likely prove why they were voted the Best Live Band in Los Angeles by LA Weekly.
The eight-piece, fronted by vocal powerhouse Liz Beebe, fuses just about every genre of American music there is to create a refreshing sound that is strikingly modern and vintage, all at once. When they come to Bethlehem, you can expect a show as lively as their recent single, “Busted.”
The track, released in October, features Beebe’s hard-hitting melody backed by stomp-along rhythms, inventive mandolin plucking, and the powerful horns of Matt Rubin (Trumpet) and Ulf Bjorlin (Trombone). The accompanying video features the band playing in front of a plain white backdrop, while often cutting to visually contrasting scenes featuring dancers Erica Lawless, Kaitlyn Schwalbe-Fletcher, and Taylor Leigh Edwards, who use their every movement to take the frustrations of any woman scorned out on the perplexed man in the room.
More of those women seem to show up toward the end of the video, by the way, but we don’t want to give everything away. Watch for yourself!
