Camp Kesem Central PA Open to Children with Parents Battling Cancer
We break briefly from our regularly scheduled local music content to let you know about Camp Kesem Central Pennsylvania, part of a nationwide network of week-long summer camps supporting children through and beyond their parent’s cancer.
Camp Kesem Central Pennsylvania is open to all children aged 6-18 affected by a parent or guardian’s cancer. The campers who attend have the unique opportunity to develop friendships with peers facing similar challenges, build confidence, and gain a support network of caring, well-trained volunteer counselors. Each summer camp is entirely organized, planned, and fundraised for by college student leaders at university chapters across the country, with the mission of supporting the more than five million children in the United States living with a parent battling cancer, and as many as 55,000 grieving the loss of a parent to the disease.
Camp Kesem Central Pennsylvania is looking for campers in need all over Pennsylvania, and still have spots available for the camp this summer, which will take place August 13-18 at Camp Chen-a-Wanda in Thompson, PA. For more information, email firstname.lastname@example.org or call (570) 634-5720.
