Rocking the Valley Calls Musicians Together for Tommy Zito
The local music community is coming together for renowned local entertainer Tommy Zito, who was recently admitted to a hospital after falling ill. A GoFundMe page launched on Friday already has more than $1,200 toward its $25,000 goal to support Tommy and his wife, Jan, as the musician continues to receive treatment.
Now, Rocking the Valley, an internet radio station that showcases artists in the Lehigh Valley and surrounding areas, is lending a hand to the cause.
On Sunday, August 27 at 4 p.m., Rocking the Valley will host a benefit concert for Zito at the Jetport Bar & Lounge on Airport Road in Allentown, in the hope of reaching the aforementioned fundraising $25,000 goal.
Rocking the Valley founder Steve Jones gave many reasons for pulling this benefit show together so quickly.
“Tommy has done a tremendous amount for local music and musicians in the Valley. He is one of the most unselfish, non-self entered entertainers we have. In his time of need, we can step up to give this good man some help,” Jones said. “He sets the standard of performance and etiquette. He’s also a good friend. I love working with him, and people love seeing him.”
Jones noted that the station is currently seeking performers for the benefit. Any interested artists should reach out to firstname.lastname@example.org.
