PA Bacon Fest has announced its highly-anticipated live music lineup for this year’s festival, which will take place in downtown Easton this Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 4-5, from 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
Many local favorites are slated to play the festival, a celebration of nature’s true candy: bacon. While this lineup is not 100 percent complete, it’s most of the way there, and should give you an idea of what to expect.
Now, without any further delay…
I’m sitting here, in slight disbelief that this post is what it is. It’s Lehigh Valley Underground’s 1,000th fresh, new trip onto your computer or mobile device.
We had some intriguing nominations come through in the preliminary period of the first-ever Lehigh Valley Underground Fan’s Choice Awards. We appreciate everyone who has participated so far, and we thank you for your input.
But now, it gets real.
We roll into November with an exciting week on tap. Of course, this week marks the third installment of the Lehigh Valley Underground First Friday Concert Series, but there’s even more in store out there.
Speaking of more in store, a partial spoiler alert: Next Monday, November 6 at 9 a.m. ET, we’ve got a special announcement for you guys. Make sure you have your eyes right here at that time.
Anyway, onto this week’s…
Can’t-Miss Shows of the Week!
Artist: Tentative Plans
Album: Still (EP)
Released: July 7, 2017
With their latest EP “Still,” Ambler-based indie pop duo Tentative Plans has a collection of six mostly-mellow tunes which address the changes and challenges of love.
Fun fact: I’ve been following Philadelphia’s Foxtrot & the Get Down for years. We originally crossed paths back in 2014, in the old days of The Quinn Spinn. We’d play their tunes on the show and, as a matter of fact, they even trekked all the way to North Jersey that June, where we were based at the time, to perform at an American Cancer Society benefit that we produced called “Entertainment For a Cure.”
On Friday night, fans of Linkin Park gathered at Easton’s One Centre Square for an evening to pay tribute to Chester Bennington, the band’s late frontman who tragically committed suicide in July.
Our friend Richie Ares, who many of you out on the scene know and love as theLionhearted, invited us to take part in Thursday night’s debut show at The Parlor, a new house show venue in Bethlehem.
We’re glad we did — and we’ll definitely be heading there again!
This Friday night, five local musicians will come together as a band to pay tribute to Chester Bennington and the rest of Linkin Park, after the beloved frontman tragically took his own life over the summer.
