Reflections on 2017

We did it. We’ve come to the end of another year together.
Tonight, the Lehigh Valley and the rest of the world will celebrate making it through 2017, and will look forward to a New Year full of hope and fresh possibilities.
As I reflect on the 2017 we’ve had at Lehigh Valley Underground, I find myself amazed. We entered this year wanting to have a larger impact than we did in Year 1. We set goals to create more performance opportunities for the artists on our scene, up our content game, have more contributors join the fray, and become a stronger community partner. Looking back, I can safely say that we achieved all of those – and then some.
If you would have told me that, by the end of 2017, our partnerships would be responsible for bringing South Bethlehem to life every First Friday, and that we’d be on the verge of an extravaganza of epic proportions to celebrate our second birthday next month, I would have been thrilled. On top of that, all of our site traffic records from 2016 were shattered this year, setting new bars for the months and years ahead.
Even more importantly, we met even more of you throughout the year. We got to know your talents, we got to know you as people, and you have given us your love and positive energy as we have continued on our mission to become the premier community resource for local music and entertainment news in eastern Pennsylvania and western New Jersey.
As we’ve said from the very beginning, it takes a scene to build a scene. If you’re reading this, we’re proud to work with you to make sure ours gets stronger by the day. It is our honor and privilege to do our part.
Thank you for your continuing support, and have a happy, safe, and prosperous New Year.
We can’t wait to get started on 2018. See you then!
