Local Music Options for your Fourth of July Celebration

Staying local this Fourth of July? Stuck without plans and wondering what to do?
Not to worry — as always, our local music community delivers the goods to make sure your Independence Day goes off with a bang!
For example, you could trek to Allentown’s J. Birney Crum Stadium (2027 Linden St.), where the city will be hosting its annual Fourth of July Celebration beginning at 6 p.m. Gracing the stage tomorrow evening will be local heavyweights including Scott Marshall & Marshall’s Highway, Billy Bauer Band, and James Supra Band, with fireworks set to cap things off.
If you’re a Bethlehem native, you have a couple of options. There’s always the Fourth of July celebration at SteelStacks, which will feature music from local pop jazz artist Cubbage from 4-6:30 p.m. on the TD Community Townsquare stage, followed by the Allentown Band‘s traditional Independence Day performance beginning at 7:30 p.m. on the Levitt Pavilion stage. That will be followed immediately by fireworks and Meet the Mayor’s July 4th Funkapalooza back on the Townsquare stage at 9 p.m.
Elsewhere in Bethlehem — specifically, right across the Lehigh River — The Hook has some Fourth of July plans, as well. Specifically, the four-eyed foursome will be performing all night, from 7-11 p.m., over at The Wooden Match (61 W. Lehigh St.). Making this even better? The fact that you’ll be able to see the same fireworks as the people at SteelStacks when the time comes, and all you have to do is step outside the building.
So, there you go. Celebrate freedom of choice by choosing any one of these fine musical options. Happy Independence Day!
