Ralph’s Reviews: Kayla Avitable – Shadows and Fate
Kayla Avitabile does it again, with a truly enjoyable three-song EP.
A great follow-up to her earlier release, “The Difference Between Fine and Okay,” “Shadows and Fate” is another glimpse of the amazing talent this young singer-songwriter has to offer. I found myself listening over and over again and enjoying it more each time.
The well thought-out, masterful arrangement of each song draws you in, and the magic in Kayla’s voice keeps you hanging on every word. She can be soft and gentle, yet powerful at the same time, displaying great range throughout. The chemistry between Kayla and producer Matt Molchany (Shards Studios, Bethlehem) is special, and makes this EP a true work of art. Backed by Matt on the drums, Kayla plays all of the acoustic, electric and bass guitar parts on the album.
It will be a few months before the Lehigh Valley will have the pleasure of enjoying a live performance from Kayla, as she is off to Boston to further her education. Until then, you can find her latest release on Amazon or visit kaylaavitabile.com.
“Shadows and Fate” will also be available at many other sites such as CDBaby, iTunes, and Spotify shortly.
