Ralph’s Reviews: Scott Grim – Hallelujah, Then

Today, we take a ride on the internet highway to Williamsburg, VA to listen to Scott Grim’s solo debut. The two-song “Hallelujah, Then,” released in October 2018, is a story about love, loss, and religion, and offers a stark contrast in styles from one song to the next.

While “I Know the Gospel Now” is a fast-paced, upbeat bluegrass tune, “Rivers (We All Shared)” falls more into the folk singer category. Along with some well-placed harmonies, Scott blends a horn section in nicely on both songs.

Scott started out as a member of  “Rivals & Relics” as their primary songwriter. Their 2015 release, “The Storm,” was included in the album “Download to Donate” curated by Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park. You can learn more about Scott on Facebook, and find him and the band on Bandcamp.
