PHOTOS: Stephanie Owens, Claire Kelly, and Evan Cline at True Music Room & Bar
It was a Monday night in Nashville. And, just like any night in Music City, variety was all around us — even in the same room.
We stayed out late on a school night to catch sets from three distinct artists at True Music Room & Bar, located on the fifth floor of Nashville’s Cambria Hotel. First, we were treated to the country stylings of Stephanie Owens. Owens, whose self-titled EP was released in 2018, let her voice ring out with selections from the five-track debut, as well as a few choice covers from stars like Reba McEntire and Carrie Underwood.
Next up was Claire Kelly. The Illinois native brought her engaging demeanor and memorable brand of indie folk to the stage, adding an occasional dash of humor to the equation to go alongside an impressive set of pipes, as showcased on an a capella rendition of the Irish traditional song, “Grace,” to close her set.
Then, we enjoyed an acoustic pop set from Evan Cline. The Philly-area native, who will join us this Monday on the April edition of The Quinn Spinn, lent his silky-smooth vocals to intricate, loop-pedal arrangements, which included the hot new single, “Into You.”
