Raquel de Souza Swings onto the Scene with ‘King of the Jungle’

As we’ve seen lately on UMC, there are fresh, new shades of country pop coming out of the New York market right now, powered by women whose voices and willpower are equally strong.

Add Raquel de Souza to that list!

We took a listen to Raquel’s latest single, the alt-rock influenced “King of the Jungle.” What we discovered is a steady-grooving tune about the man who thinks he’s a little too “alpha” for his own good. Raquel laments falling for a “machismo type of man” as she breaks down their relationship and one-sided interactions, while suggesting that the only “jungle” her former lover rules is the one he created inside his own mind.
