Chris Ross and the North: Live at City View Sound
Chris Ross spent the better part of a decade tucked away on the coast of Maine developing his voice as a writer. Inside the arsenal of tracks he’s penned, one finds dangerous, hard-hitting reflections; stories of love, life, and longing that appeal to listeners for their authenticity.
The musicians forming The North provide a masterful blend of country and rock & roll swagger, a winning combination captained by Ross’ candid storytelling. Anchored by Ryan Curless (drums) and Caleb Sweet (bass), the rhythm section hits where you want it to. Rounding out The North is guitarist Zachary Bence, a virtuoso with the ability to transition between ear-scorching guitar solos and beautiful sonic swells on the drop of a dime. Bence’s grace as a musician is as boundless as his contribution to the band’s steady concord.
In this episode of Live at City View Sound, Chris Ross and the North performs their song, “You Can Have Mine,” and talks about their writing process, which often begins with a simple jam or riff.
Live at City View Sound connects the face to the voice, the emotion to the artist, and the recordings to a raw performance. This series features artists of all genres, with each episode consisting of a 3-4 minute interview and an acoustic performance. Every artist has a craft and his or her own unique sound. Live at City View Sound strives to showcase these artists in their own element.
