The Quinn’s Daily Spinn: Thursday, June 27
Raymond Short of Rofo Audio is a songwriter who has no problem finding a sweet spot, churning out interesting, well-crafted rock and roll tunes that are also highly accessible to wide audiences.
The power trio — named for their hometown of Royersford, Pennsylvania (colloquially known as RoFo) — has three albums out, and it’s never too long after a release before they’re hard at work on their next modern rock masterpiece.
For today’s Daily Spinn, however, let’s go back to one of Rofo Audio’s earlier works, from their 2016 debut album, Now Broadcasting.
“Maisie,” the album’s second track, stands out as not only one of the most memorable tracks on the album, but in Rofo Audio’s entire body of work thus far. The bright and memorable opening guitar riff, which sounds just a touch Celtic-influenced to us, is supported by swinging rhythms that keep the tune upbeat (and may even get you dancing, if you aren’t careful).
