The Quinn’s Daily Spinn: Thursday, August 15

Philly’s Three Strands — the folk project headed by singer-songwriter Sean Cox — has new music on the way soon. This is exciting for us, since we’ve been following Three Strands since before Three Strands was a thing.

We first met Sean way back in the pre-LVU Quinn Spinn days. We were at the Hard Rock Cafe in Philadelphia in early 2015, and Sean’s band at the time, The Band of Rivals, was one of the acts on the bill. Since then, our paths have crossed every now and again, including when he released this EP as Three Strands back in 2017.

The lead track, “Face of Narcissus,” is a former Band of Rivals song, and is a tale about an endless and often self-centered search for beauty, accented with Cox’s gentle, yet powerful vocals and blues-tinged guitar work. We’ve chosen it as our Daily Spinn, both to get you ready for something new from Three Strands, and to dip into our past for a gem on this #ThrowbackThursday.

The Quinn Spinn is a monthly podcast which features conversations with musicians, producers, content creators, and industry professionals, providing insight into what it takes to succeed as a creative entrepreneur in today’s industry.
