Yesterday was #ThrowbackThursday, and today is #FlashbackFriday. So, let’s flash it on back to a tense and powerful track from a bit earlier in our 2019.

We recall being blown away by “Waves,” which was released by Micah Butler in 2018 and came onto our radar in January. What’s particularly impressive about this tune is the fact that it consists of nothing more than Butler’s potent alto and richly-layered, atmospheric guitar work. Yet, it sounds so full and dynamic, with a palpable, stormy tension hanging overhead throughout.
