WATCH: Katie Cole’s Raw, Honest ‘Graceland’ Video

Late last year, Americana artist Katie Cole released her EP, Things That Break Pt. 1. We chatted with her about the EP, as well as her experience coming to the U.S. and working with some of the industry’s biggest names over the years.

Since then, the Melbourne, Australia native has kept quite busy. She has spent a good portion of 2019 touring Europe and then the U.S. with The Smashing Pumpkins, and accompanied frontman Billy Corgan on his solo run. All the while, she has been as tireless as ever working on her own projects.

So, let us show you one of those projects. Katie released a video for “Graceland,” a blues-influenced Americana ballad that stands out as one of the biggest, most emotional moments on Things That Break Pt. 1.

The video, directed by Doltyn Snedden and DS Creatives, is an accurate reflection of Cole’s songwriting; it’s raw, honest, and holds nothing back in terms of emotion. Cole allows herself to be vulnerable as she walks around in the grey twilight, repenting her past mistakes and searching for closure from the heartache she has caused.
