The Quinn’s Daily Spinn: Thursday, January 16

I want to shed some light on a songwriter who has been working hard at his craft for quite some time.

His name is Not For Coltrane.

The Pennsylvania-based singer-songwriter — real name Michael Duck — just released an EP toward the tail end of 2019 titled, Fuzziness and Breath. The four-track, alt-folk effort is a crafty one, full of memorable hooks and a range of moods, with moments ranging from whimsical to absolutely heartbreaking.

As for today’s Daily Spinn, let’s stick with the title track, “Fuzziness and Breath.” The record’s bright, beautifully-layered opening statement features a soaring refrain, and is supported by the intricate session work of Shawn Cav (bass), Dave Fry (mandolin), and Dave Deubler (drums).

Take this one in as our Daily Spinn. You can enjoy it below!
