The Quinn’s Daily Spinn: Wednesday, June 3

If you’re just learning about Emily Hackett, let’s quickly bring you up to speed. The Americana singer-songwriter has enjoyed plenty of success over the past couple of years, with her EPs By The Sun (2018) and By The Moon (2019) earning her a spot as one of CMT’s Next Women of Country in 2019.
Now, she’s back with her third single of 2020. Co-written with Davis Naish, “Handle” presents Hackett at her most refreshingly candid, as a gentle folk-pop waltz gives her a backdrop on which to take ownership of her relationship transgressions.
“I can be hard to handle — something I didn’t really know about myself, until this relationship. I think people had just put up with it—but he doesn’t, and it’s exactly what I need,” Hackett explains. “This song was that kind of magic that happens in an hour, because it was heavy on the heart and needed to come out, plain and simple. It’s the best apology I’ve ever made.”
Now, it has made its way to you. Check out “Handle” by Emily Hackett as today’s Daily Spinn!
