LISTEN: Sean Cunningham Reveals ‘The Whole Charade’

The early tastes we received of Sean Cunningham‘s debut solo EP, The Whole Charade, indicated that we were in for an auditory joyride, marked by inventive production and from-the-heart stories.
Now that the self-produced, four-track effort has been out in the world for a couple weeks, we can tell you that it lives up to the initial billing. Cunningham uses The Whole Charade to tell stories of steadfast resolve through the pain of betrayal, as demonstrated on lead track “How Could Love Defeat Me,” and continued on the biting kiss-off to a former flame, “Whatever Helps You Sleep.” In contrast, the EP also features more vulnerable moments of letting go, including the mellow, hypnotic “Laissez Faire.” A similar feeling persists on the galactic title track, which concludes the record with a sense of acceptance and, perhaps, optimism for what lies ahead.
Get lost in these sonic landscapes. It’s well worth the listen! Fall into The Whole Charade below.
