As we prepare for cooler weather, Nashville’s Dani Felt is ready for fall with her first single in nine years: “Queen.”

Produced by the Invisible Heroes, this empowering track is just the thing we need in 2020. The minimalist production gives room for the commanding lyrics, reminding me of an early Lorde track. Meanwhile, Dani sings of taking control of her romantic relationship with smooth vocals reminiscent of the HAIM sisters.

Having met Dani last year, this song is a 180 to her personality, as if presented by an alter ego. This song will shock her fans and in a good way.

I asked Dani her inspiration for the track, as I was very intrigued after hearing some of her earlier work: 

“I wanted to write something that was out of my comfort zone. I always enjoyed the attention and power play a woman could have when she takes control.”
