Daily Spinn: Me Nd Adam’s Latest Single is Killers-Approved!

Austin-based electropop duo Me Nd Adam seem to be garnering a lot of positive attention about their self-proclaimed “trashwave” sound these days. Not only have they received press from the likes of Wonderland Magazine, Alt Press, American Songwriter, Rolling Stone India and The Line of Best Fit, but their new single, “The More I Grow Up,” received the seal of approval from one of their greatest influences.
Indeed, it was The Killers themselves who gave love to the single last week on social media. And, frankly, if it’s good enough for one of my favorite bands of all-time, it’s good enough for Daily Spinn consideration!
“The More I Grow Up” fits right in with the new wave revival pioneered by The Killers around the turn of the century. Cool, bright synths reside over a steadfast heartland rock sensibility. It’s all tied together with a narrative about the changes Adam and Vince went through while crafting the song, and the ways change causes us to question our place in the world.
“We’d just been to New York chasing big dreams, and wound up blowing all our money and getting drunk for a couple years,” Vince said. “We were on our last dollar, eating lettuce tacos and using our gas oven set to 500 degrees to stay warm.”
For what its worth, we think they made it out alright. If “The More I Grow Up” is a sign of things to come on their forthcoming record, American Drip Part I, bright days will surely lie ahead for Me Nd Adam. Have a listen to this Daily Spinn below!
