Do you hate going out? So does KiNG MALA, and she’s here to help you feel better about it.
“Homebody” is a feel-good pop tune featuirng bright piano tones, rich harmonies, and a message about owning your own social anxiety. The Los Angeles-based artist — who has received acclaim from Live Nation’s Ones to Watch, Wonderland Magazine, Earmilk, LADYGUNN and American Songwriter — wrote the song from her own personal experience trying to acclimate to high-pressure social situations.
“This song is about my social anxiety, and how much I really just want to be home like… all of the time,” she said. “I’ve struggled for a long time feeling like I belonged and trying to be comfortable with myself. I truly always feel awkward and dorky and misplaced at every party I’m invited to, and the more I talked to people about it, the more I’ve realized most people feel the exact same way as I do.”
“Homebody” was produced by Rob Auerbach and mastered by John Greenham (Billie Eilish, Sam Smith, Katy Perry, Banks). It’s sure to make you feel comfortable in your own skin… and maybe, in a pair of sweatpants on the couch. Check it out!
