Daily Spinn: Josh Kelley Offers Hope on ‘Hold Me My Lord’

Josh Kelley has accomplished quite a bit in his career. You may know him for his appearances on nationally syndicated television shows, including TODAY, Good Morning America, The Ellen Degeneres Show, and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, or for performing the theme song of the hit sitcom, Mike and Molly.

Even with all of that under his belt, he still has uncharted territory to cover. For instance, he just released a new single and video that is unlike anything he’s ever done!

Kelley released the Gospel-soaked “Hold Me My Lord” this past Friday, in collaboration with Grammy, Dove and Emmy Award-winning producer Shannon Sanders. The new single — included on Kelley’s forthcoming album, My Baby & The Band (out Nov. 13) — features the 30-person All Voices choir, who help deliver a healing message to a world at a crossroads.

That sense of healing extends to the official music video, which features Kelley performing in between footage highlighting 2020’s landmark events, including the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the Black Lives Matter protests that swept the nation and world this summer. As the video continues, its tone turns increasingly hopeful, focusing on the collective strength that emerges from finding peace and understanding with our fellow humans.

It seems appropriate that we share this one with you today. Enjoy “Hold Me My Lord” as today’s Daily Spinn!
