Daily Spinn: The Little Blue Hearts’ Tale of Togetherness and Recovery

As we learned from his single, “Eyes to the Sky,” Walter DeBarr knows a thing or two about perseverance. However, he also knows that no man can go on this journey alone.

DeBarr and his partner, Pamela Kesling, form folk duo The Little Blue Hearts. Beyond that, Kesling has helped him through some of his darkest hours — including relapse and recovery from heroin addiction. Their tremendous story leads us into this live performance video of their song, “Cry All Night,” released by folk music outlet The Folkway.

As for the tune itself, “Cry All Night” features some gentle guitar picking to underscore DeBarr’s trademark growling vocals, which are contrasted beautifully by Kesling’s bright harmonies. Together, The Little Blue Hearts combine their forces to articulate the type of love that can weather any storm.
