Daily Spinn: Stay Out ‘Past Midnight’ with The Southern Gothic

It’s the start of a holiday weekend, so to celebrate, let’s toast to living in the moment!

As we announced over the weekend, The Southern Gothic’s Connor Christian will be one of our December guests to close out the 2020 season of The Quinn Spinn. We had a stellar conversation with Connor about his creative journey, which is leading to the release of the band’s latest EP, Burnin’ Moonlight, on Dec. 4.

With that, the latest single from the project — and the one that gives Burnin’ Moonlight its name — is titled “Past Midnight.” It’s a modern country tune at its core, peppered with elements of modern pop and alternative rock — right in line with the spirit of experimentation and exploration present throughout the forthcoming EP.

“Because I love Chris Stapleton or Shovels & Rope, that means I can’t love Sia and Tame Impala or Young the Giant?  That’s crazy,” says Christian. “I love music and I want to be able to explore — wherever that takes me.”

True to its title, “Past Midnight” is about living in the moment without a care for tomorrow. Its late summer vibe will naturally remind you of warmer days, but it feels right at home on Thanksgiving Eve which, as we all know, is the #1 party night of the entire year.

So, let’s get the party started, and enjoy “Past Midnight” as today’s Daily Spinn!
