Baltimore-raised, Nashville-based Chris Wilcox is preparing to release his Old Shore Troubadour EP on Dec. 3. To prepare us, he dropped the title track and accompanying video, which was recorded in one take at Asheville’s Echo Mountain Run studio, where the likes of Band of Horses, Greensky Bluegrass, The Avett Brothers, The War on Drugs have haunted the halls.

The video, recorded in Echo Mountain’s renovated Church Room, was mixed with b-roll from Wilcox’s weekend in Asheville during the making of the EP and video. The tune was mixed by drummer and producer Matt Zutell, whose masterful blending of modern filters with the room’s iconic sound captures the integrity and spirit of Americana.

“(‘Old Shore Troubadour)’ was almost a direct response to this increased time on the road, and while songs about the road aren’t a new concept, Old Shore focuses instead on the stops in my hometown,” Wilcox said about the single. “Those fleeting moments can take on a new meaning when you’re bouncing from place to place — conversations with family cut short, friends greeting a tired version of me. “While these nights home are great, they’re just another night in the midst of dozens more that, especially now, go too quick.”
