If you grew up in the 90s, there stands an excellent chance that you remember The Cranberries’ 1992 classic, “Dreams.” It was everywhere, back in the day.

Today, you have a chance to hear it as you never have before!

With that, we check back in with Jordan Lehning. The son of legendary country music producer Kyle Lehning, Jordan has gained recognition as an artist, producer, and composer who has worked with the likes of Kacey Musgraves, Brett Eldridge, Waylon Jennings, and more). And, as a 90s kid, he heard “Dreams” all over the radio, just like the rest of us.

Lehning has re-imaged the single as a gentle, nostalgic ballad, complete with ambient backing vocals and an English horn performance by Grace Woodworth. Lehning’s version of “Dreams” feels like a warm memory; one which looks upon life’s journey with fondness, mixed with the sweet melancholy that comes from realizing that life’s milestone events can never quite be duplicated.

“This song was released in 1992 when I was 8 years old. It’s always had a sort of magical quality. It sounds both like a celebration and a mourning: the core dichotomy of nostalgia,” explains Lehning. “I finished 90 percent of the recording and put it away, only to revisit two years later and finish the last 10 percent. I am rarely compelled to record covers. Recording this track felt, for some reason, cathartic — celebrating my old ghosts and memories.”
