Try this band name on for size: The Godzilla Attacks Tokyo Kamikaze Blues Band.

Now, say it ten times fast, and get ready to dig into their latest single.

The Godzilla Attacks Tokyo Kamikaze Blues Band is the project of Michael Smull, a graduate of the Musicians Institute, Guitar Institute of Technology in Hollywood, CA and 30+ year music veteran. Smull just released “Your Silence Says It All” on Dec. 23, about a father trying to connect to his young daughter after the pain she endured, as she struggled with drug addiction and living on the streets.

“This song is about a father trying to help his daughter after this awful experience,” Smull elaborated. “Love your kids. Keep them close. Listen to them.”

Smull’s guitar on the track emotes the anguish of the blues, while incorporating a slight country twang that is made heavier by the verse’s gravely melody. Lyrically, Smull sings of the struggle our protagonist feels, as he tries to break down the walls of resistance put in place by a young woman afraid to come clean.

There’s a lot to unpack with this one, so we’ll let you get to it. Preview “Your Silence Says It All” below!
