Daily Spinn: Sanya N’Kanta Savors the Moment on ‘Waste My Time’

Second chances don’t always come our way. With that in mind, it’s wise to make our time count with the people we care about.

We explore that theme on “Waste My Time,” the latest single from Sanya N’Kanta. The Jamaican-born, genre-bending songwriter employs 70s-influenced, easy-like-Sunday-morning pop rock instrumentation, while he soulfully implores us to cherish the people whom we hold most dear.

“That saying,’ you don’t know what you got till it’s gone’ is such a familiar story, and (it’s) basic human nature,” N’Kanta said. “We often take for granted the people and moments that are most important to us. Time is fleeting, and it’s not often that we get a redo or a second chance. ‘Waste My Time” is about treasuring every moment you have with the ones you love. It’s about the moment you realize that you have everything that you ever wanted and needed — you don’t ever want it to end.”
