Nothing good ever happens after “2 AM…”

That’s the idea — and the title — behind the latest single and video from New York City-based pop artist Rachel Bochner. Produced by Tiger Darrow, the simmering modern pop tune carries a touch of new wave sensibility, and features the singer’s smoky vocals, as she describes the pull of temptations she may come to regret in the morning.

As for the video, it was directed by Alison Hale & Alex Kokenis, and features Bochner and a male co-star making their way through the iconic fun house on Jenkinson’s Boardwalk in Point Pleasant Beach, NJ — which, personally speaking, conjures many wonderful memories from my youth. Perhaps the metaphor here is that late-night love is much like a mirror maze — it’s hazy, confusing, and may leave you feeling a little more lost than you were before.
