You get the situation described on “Where Do You Go From Here,” the new single from Stray Nova. The Tennessee-based rock and roll outfit — who, you may have heard, just joined us for a Live from the 615 performance alongside Borrowed Sparks this past Friday — released the single as the follow-up to 2019’s “Bad Luck,” with more on the way later this year.

The band is led by the charismatic Dalton Akins. The singer and bassist delivers a powerful vocal performance which brings a Gavin DeGraw level of soul to the track, while packing enough raw punch to make blues heads happy. Speaking of blues, you’ll hear its influence seep in further by way of the electrifying guitar work of axe man Matt White, whose dynamic performance on “Where Do You Go From Here” hooks us, from the tune’s memorable opening riff onward.
