Matt Sahadi Releases Romantic Indie Rock Waltz, ‘Cherry Cola’

Ready to turn up the romance? Matt Sahadi has something for you that he calls “a dreamy summer ballad for the blissful hearts.”

The Nashville-based songwriter released the shoegazey waltz, “Cherry Cola,” on August 20. Influenced by artists including 90s stalwarts The Goo Goo Dolls and Mazzy Star, the new single ties lush guitars and atmospheric synths together with beautiful imagery, creating an indie-rock-meets-dream-pop soundscape that makes love feel brand new.

As he embarked on the creative process for “Cherry Cola,” Sahadi teamed up with long-time producer Daniel Dennis, and received creative input from Alex Malcolm alongside session players, Johnny Poirier and Steven Mullen. The single was tracked in late fall 2020, and then sent across the pond to the United Kingdom, where it was mixed by John Catlin (Inhaler, The Killers, Foals) and mastered by John Davis (Noel Gallagher, U2, Lana Del Ray).
