PHOTOS: Leah Jean and Sam Gyllenhall Band at The Cobra Nashville
NashLive! returned to The Cobra Nashville on Saturday night, and the musicianship was on-point, all night long.
It was time for Leah Jean and Sam Gyllenhaal Band to take their turn performing under the red lights of The Cobra’s front room. And, let us tell ya, the performances were stellar.
Leah Jean began the evening with a mostly-chill set that blended jazz, blues, and soul. Her set included released tunes including “Boys on the Internet” and the recently-released single, “Charis Song (Gratitude Song).” She also closed the set by digging deep into her catalog, paying homage to her punk rock past in a fitting tribute to the venue.
Sam Gyllenhaal Band followed with a dynamic set that proved plenty powerful with nothing more than guitar, percussion, and the gorgeous harmonies of its three members. The band kept the audience captivated and moving, trading fun banter and, occasionally, lead vocal duties through tunes like “Mary Does,” “Blame It on the Moonlight,” and set closer, “Don’t Look Down.”
