LISTEN: The Local Honeys Depict Rural Living on ‘Dead Horses’
Today, we take a trip just a couple hours north of Nashville into rural Kentucky. That’s the place The Local Honeys call home.
The Applachian folk duo are preparing to release their self-titled debut album, which they’ll celebrate with a release show at The Basement on July 15. Before that happens, they’ve given us the first single, titled “Dead Horses.”
The single depicts rural living in all of its highs and lows; for all of its beauty and sorrow. A song for “those who’ve loved and lost some incredible horses in their lifetime,” “Dead Horses” recalls the majesty of the amazing beasts who may be here in the physical realm for but a short while, but whose impact and memory stays imprinted upon those who hold them dear.
