Halloween is ARREIS’ birthday. This year, it also served as the backdrop for a celebration of her new single, “Straight to Hell.”

P.S.: “Straight to Hell” was one of our Songs You Should Hear last week.

The celebration — aptly titled Straight to Hell-o-ween — featured an unforgettable performance from the Nashville-based dark pop artist, further cementing her status as an artist to watch as we head toward 2023. ARREIS showcased impressive range, enthralling the crowd with high-powered performances of 2022 singles “Straight to Hell” and “Best Worst Love,” as well as a cover of Miley Cyrus’ “See You Again” that was brought to new life through the saxophone of Gus Arnold. She knew when to dial the energy back, as well, giving those in attendance a stripped-down preview of the tender upcoming single, “October.”

Supporting ARREIS on Monday night was Emily Ronna, who brought the heat to open the night with a spirited, refreshingly honest performance that included the sex-positive singles “Being Casual is Weird” and “Rodeo.” An engaging live performer, Ronna showcased her varied influences throughout the set; catchy, pop-influenced hooks were colored with elements of punk, emo, and even a little bit of country.
