LISTEN: Travis Feutz Recalls Drinking with ‘George Jones’

If you long for the days of country storytelling paired with vintage rock and roll flair, today is your lucky day.

Travis Feutz — who you recently heard on the UMC20 Best of January — is back with his second single of the year. Titled “George Jones,” the new single captures all of country music’s classic elements — including drinking, name dropping a country legend, and even a little bit of jail time — and wraps them up in a fun package that is sure to keep you moving.

“I was hoping to create a honky tonk anthem that, if you’re in a Texas dancehall, this is the last song you hear before they turn out the lights,” Feutz said.

That’s an appropriate aspiration. “George Jones” recorded at Modern Electric in Dallas, after Feutz derived inspiration from right here in Nashville, where this song was written. Enjoy it below!
