We were a day late with this one! That is indeed what happens when you have two shows and a whole lot of other fun stuff happening this week. Better late than never, right?
Nonetheless, we’re confident that this week’s UMC20 is worth the wait. We’re also confident that it will get you feeling something. There are a lot of heavier, more introspective songs here, befitting a time of year when it gets dark at 2 p.m. or something. ‘Tis the season, we suppose?
Of course, there’s plenty of fun, too. It’s all ready for you below!

Thursday night was another one of those nights at The East Room.

A lot has happened since the last time we had CJ-0 on The Quinn Spinn. She was known as MOLLE. The world was juuuuuust going into COVID-19-induced lockdown. There was a lot we still had to learn about ourselves, and about each other.
Here we are 20 months later, and there is much to discuss. The pandemic and our individual journeys have informed great changes (and even progress!) since the last time we shared space in the studio. Join us today for an excellent conversation about healing, growth, and purpose!
This week’s Songs You Should Hear showcases the broad scope of the music out there for all of us — from the more traditional, to the completely unorthodox.
We love it when we get to paint from a broad palette like this — it keeps things interesting, and certainly, it gives all of our ears something new to appreciate — no matter your flavor.
Let’s start this weekend right!

Hear What You Should
Nobody said growing up is easy. It’s even harder when it involves growing apart.
Watch ‘Not Okay’
If you’ve listened to this week’s UMC20, you may have had the chance to enjoy “Vixen,” the new single from New Zealand-born pop artist Estella Dawn.
If you haven’t, you should really get on that… because this one is a premier example of everything pop music can and should be.
New songs. New artists (or at least, artists making their first-ever UMC20 appearances). It’s all here, and it’s all fresh.

We’ll once again be graced with The Sewing Club’s presence next month as part of this fun NashLive! rock bill at Cobra. While we wait, we still have the opportunity to see their smiling faces, by way of their new music video for “Clarity.”
See it First!
We all have that friend whom we adore, but whose differences preclude us from becoming “more than friends.” Emmy Law explores this realization on her new single, “Black and White.”

Sydney, as in Australia? Yup!
You’ll hear music from across the world below in a moment. You’ll also hear from a couple of talents grown closer to home. You might just fall in love, and you may even resolve to do so without the aid of the swipey apps after you get done listening to these…
