UMC20: Upcoming Shows, Interview Guests, and More (Aug. 2, 2022)

We have so much to get to with this week’s edition of UMC20, and that includes providing clues about what’s coming down the pike in the near future.

We have upcoming (and previous) Quinn Spinn guests featured here, as well as artists set for forthcoming NashLive! shows this fall. We have submissions from multiple different continents and, of course, we touch as many genres as possible across these 20 tracks.

Sound exciting to you? Good, because it does to us. Let’s go!

UMC20: Guess What? It’s Already May (May 3, 2022)

We’re late to the party on our annual J-Timbs meme share. Sorry — it’s just been busy.

However, one thing that isn’t late is this week’s UMC20 playlist — and we’ve got ourselves some bangers. We also have some more tender moments. We run the genre gauntlet, and we even have a Mother’s Day tune from a “Swanky Ma.”

Make sure you call Mom this weekend — after you check out what we’ve got for you below!

Get Your First Taste of The Z-Man Experience!

Zach Cleven is a Midwestern-born musician who has toured the country, playing notable venues across the nation including Rockwood Music Hall and the legendary Bluebird Cafe. In the process, he has shared his passion for music via lively stage shows and deft musicianship rolled into a style he calls “scat-acoustic-funk.”

Through it all, Zach has remained true to himself and his artistic vision, which he now presents to us through the lens of The Z-Man Experience.

UMC20: UMC Birthday Edition (Jan. 18, 2022)

It feels good to be alive today!

On this day six years ago, in the small, plucky former industrial city of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, a regional music blog was born. It was called Lehigh Valley Underground, and it would go on to cover some cool festivals, win some local awards, and become a pretty legit community resource.

Then, toward the end of 2018, LVU changed its name, moved to Nashville, and became the Underground Music Collective you know and love today. The rest, as they say, is independent music history.

And, because we find ourselves in a celebratory mood on this sixth anniversary of Launch Day, it’s only fitting that we have a brand new UMC20 playlist for you. We’ve combed the depths of our submission form and inboxes, and we also decided to show some love to the artists on next Thursday’s Music on the Move showcase at Analog Nashville, just for fun.
