Pairing smooth, yet dynamic vocal melodies with full-band instrumentals, Chelcie Jette writes and creates with a vibe in mind. What is that vibe? Think a dim light room cast in bright purples and pinks, plush seating scattering the floors, and a dreamy haze that envelops the air.
Following the building momentum of noteworthy releases, national performances and festival plays including stops at MajorStage, Sofar Sounds, and iHeartRadio in NYC under a former stage name, R&B singer-songwriter Ria Barkr surrendered to the universe and began looking inward during the global shutdown. As a result, she tapped into a fountain of creativity that flowed out of the chanteuse, and into a fresh collection of new songs. Now, Ria is already a promising R&B trailblazer in her own right who’s not afraid to change the game.
Ex-church girl turned extravagant frontman, ARREIS uses her intensity intertwined with intimacy to capture the hearts and minds of her audience. In each album, ARREIS blends other genres with her mainstream dark pop sound to fit a specific mood and color (“synesthesia”). With aspirations of the Super Bowl Halftime Show, she is a meticulous band leader and bona fide diva, making her live shows stadium-ready.

Let me take you back to the Summer of 2017. Nashville still was not but a twinkle in our eye. The Underground Music Collective you know and love today was known as Lehigh Valley Underground, based in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
My hair was shoulder length, and I resembled the GEICO caveman. If you know, you know. If you don’t, consider yourself fortunate. 😉Read more
At Underground Music Collective, we strive to develop an ecosystem that empowers independent creatives to pursue their passions.
We live by the phrase, “the rising tide raises all boats.” Our efforts will only go as far as they impact the community around us; therefore, we are focused on building a robust, collaborative, community-driven platform through our content, events, and outreach.
To realize our noble mission to its fullest potential, we need your support.
We are delighted to present our Underground Rising initiative. Beginning on Tuesday, November 29 (that’s Giving Tuesday!) and continuing through the end of 2022, we will share stories from within our community, highlighting the impact Underground Music Collective has had on the careers and lives of those who #GoUnderground.
We share these stories, so that you may feel encouraged to support our cause with a monetary donation, made tax-deductible via our fiscal sponsorship from The Arts & Business Council of Greater Nashville. Every dollar raised throughout our Underground Rising initiative will be invested into avenues that make our platform stronger, to ensure that the songs and stories from within our community have a greater opportunity to impact the masses.
Our fundraising goal? It’s $5,000 by January 1, 2023. If 200 people just like you donate $25 each, we’ll meet our goal.
By supporting Underground Music Collective, you find yourself in good company. Over the past year, esteemed national and global brands like Red Bull, Tennessee Titans, Redfin Real Estate, Universal Music Group (via °1824), and Creative Artists Agency (CAA) have recognized the value of UMC by leveraging our platform to build brand awareness, spotlight their events, and spread their messages.
Your support empowers us to develop our collaborative, community-driven ecosystem, and to provide meaningful opportunities to independent creatives – in Nashville, and anywhere else.
I hope that you will consider including Underground Music Collective in your charitable giving this holiday season. To make your contribution, please visit abcnashville.org/donations/umc.
Thank you for your support, and please have a safe and happy holiday season!
Yours in music,
Gerard T. Longo
