Rofo Audio has been churning out top-notch rock and roll for about as long as we’ve had a publication with “Underground” in the name. It feels like just yesterday that I interviewed frontman Raymond Short on an earlier iteration of The Quinn Spinn about their debut record, Now Broadcasting — but that was about four and a half years ago!
The year was 2017. We were entrenched in the regional era of our fine publication in eastern Pennsylvania, with Music City’s bright neon lights not but a twinkle in our eyes.
One of the bands we kept coming back to was — and still is — Rofo Audio, who released a video for their song, “Inked.”
Raymond Short of Rofo Audio is a songwriter who has no problem finding a sweet spot, churning out interesting, well-crafted rock and roll tunes that are also highly accessible to wide audiences.
Rofo Audio is a power trio formed in the summer of 2014 in the Philadelphia suburbs. The band incorporates combined influences of power rock, laced with acoustic instrumentation and vocal harmonies that work seamlessly together with riff-oriented guitar melodies. The result is a unique sound that delivers intrigue with every track.
In this episode of Live at City View Sound, Raymond Short (guitar/vox) discusses the band’s approach to releasing full-length records in a single-heavy market.
Live at City View Sound connects the face to the voice, the emotion to the artist, and the recordings to a raw performance. This series features artists of all genres, with each episode consisting of a 3-4 minute interview and an acoustic performance.Every artist has a craft and a unique sound. Live at City View Sound strives to showcase these artists in their own element.
Modern rock power trio Rofo Audio has recently taken their game to the next level, starting 2019 with a bang by releasing new album, “In the In Between” in early January.
While you wait on us to review that — it’s coming soon, we promise! — we have something to hold you over.
We have so much fun cobbling together our weekly UMC20 Spotify playlist from submissions received via email and social media, tunes we’ve recently reviewed, and artists who simply stick out in our hearts and minds.
