Our December calendar was looking a little bare, wasn’t it? Let’s fix that!
We’re excited to announce a new rock show at The Cobra Nashville on Friday, December 10. This time, we’ll welcome locals Sly Boy, The Sewing Club, and SHELBYY, who will be joined all the way from Cincinnati by internationally-known punks Tiger Sex, whom we had the pleasure of meeting right here in Nashville a couple years back.
We’ve found ourselves at The Cobra quite a bit lately. First, it was for this rock show. Then, it was for A Night of Nashville Hip Hop last Saturday.
On Wednesday night, it was time for the Americana genre to take a turn — with a showcase of artists from Nashville and beyond!
Tuesday night was a chance to meet new faces and new places — in particular, we got to check out one new place called The NashVilla.

Y’all… Saturday night was one of the best nights we’ve had since we took this NashLive! thing out on the town.
Skylar Lee is one of the more intriguing artists we’ve had the chance to feature over the past couple of years. Since bursting onto our radar with her 2020 single, “Marionette,” the Nashville-based producer and songwriter is an inspiration for women everywhere, releasing pop music that is fresh and exciting in a historically male-dominated profession.

Our first-ever show at The Cobra Nashville brought a gritty, authentic energy befitting of the venue.

Gerard here, back with another edition of Songs You Should Hear. And this time, I have company!
UMC Contributor and Fun -N- Games co-host Jenna Rose decided to join me this week, contributing a couple of selections to our new “staff picks” series. You’ll also notice that we’re releasing this edition on #NewMusicFriday. You can expect that to be the trend going forward.
Let’s do the thing and let you feast your ears on these…

Y’all… we have a fun haunt coming your way at The Dark Masquerade in a couple weeks.
It’s that event we’ve been talking about on Friday, October 29 at Mercy Lounge. It’s presented alongside HOUSEQUAKE and NashLive!, and features the musical talents of GAYLE, Notelle, Talia Stewart, and Austin Blue.

It took more time to come up with a headline for this installment of UMC20 than it took to construct the playlist itself. That’s because this one — and let’s be real, most installments of UMC20 — can’t be put into a single box.
A lot of these songs are here to feature artists on upcoming NashLive! shows, sure. However, that’s not all she wrote — we have some other fun surprises that we’ve snuck in, just for fun.
We’ll let you hunt through and find something you like. Get to it!

The Ivins have been churning out single after single over the past couple of years, as they build to the release of their sophomore album, Conditions, due out on streaming platforms on Friday, November 19.
The latest, “Hide & Lie,” meets at the intersection of modern alternative and post-grunge, and is what vocalist/guitarist Jim Ivins refers to as “a confessional about liquid courage.”
