UMC20: The Best of November 2021

Welp… we’ve almost made it to the end of another year together. And today, we’ve made it to the end of another month.

So, let’s celebrate as we typically do around here — by recapping some of the best and brightest tracks the past 30 days have had to offer. It’s tough to narrow this down every month, but November presented a particular challenge. There were so many unique and interesting cuts, but only room for 20. Difficult choices were made.

See (and hear) if you enjoy the choices we made below. We think you will!

UMC20: All the Feels (Nov. 16ish, 2021)

We were a day late with this one! That is indeed what happens when you have two shows and a whole lot of other fun stuff happening this week. Better late than never, right?

Nonetheless, we’re confident that this week’s UMC20 is worth the wait. We’re also confident that it will get you feeling something. There are a lot of heavier, more introspective songs here, befitting a time of year when it gets dark at 2 p.m. or something. ‘Tis the season, we suppose?

Of course, there’s plenty of fun, too. It’s all ready for you below!

UMC20: No Hangover Here (Nov. 2, 2021)

How do you follow up one of the greatest months in UMC history? By ensuring that this month looks just as bright!

There’s no Halloween hangover. There’s no stopping this train following a 7-event month, where we also continued to Keep the Music Playing here in the digital space. It starts here and now, with the first UMC20 of November.

We had some submissions to catch up on (and no doubt, more where those came from). We also allotted some slots on this week’s playlist to the upcoming NashLive! shows that you’ll soon enjoy here in Nashville. There’s pop, rock, soul, Americana, and even a few songs that will get you in your feels.

Let’s mix it all into the gumbo pot and let it rip!

UMC20: The Best of October 2021

We’ve had a full month of new UMC20 playlists for the first time since May. You know what that means!

OK, in case you don’t know what that means: the last Tuesday of the month serves as a month-in-review for our weekly Spotify playlist, featuring the songs that you, the listener, seemed to enjoy the most throughout the month. This month, we did mix it up a bit — specifically, there are a couple of songs on here that didn’t appear on a previous edition of UMC20 this month. However, the artists behind them did, and we just felt like keeping you on your toes with a couple surprises this time around!

Let’s get to it, shall we? Here’s the Best of October!

UMC20: New Tunes and Looking Ahead (Oct. 19, 2021)

Last week was the best kind of whirlwind around here! We got to enjoy a couple of great NashLive! shows, and we picked up some steam featuring more of your music, more frequently. We even had time for some Fun -N- Games.

Seriously, go watch that episode. What a great and meaningful conversation!

With all of that going on, we’re still catching up to make sure the glorious future is just as good as the recent past. That’s why we’re a tiiiiny bit late getting this week’s UMC20 in your hands.

Nonetheless, we think it’s worth the minor wait. You’ll find plenty of that new goodness on here, as well as some tunes that hint toward the shows to come (including this MONSTER taking place at Mercy Lounge next week). There’s rock, Americana, dark pop, and way more. We dare you to dig in!

UMC20: All of the Sounds (Oct. 12, 2021)

It took more time to come up with a headline for this installment of UMC20 than it took to construct the playlist itself. That’s because this one — and let’s be real, most installments of UMC20 — can’t be put into a single box.

A lot of these songs are here to feature artists on upcoming NashLive! shows, sure. However, that’s not all she wrote — we have some other fun surprises that we’ve snuck in, just for fun.

We’ll let you hunt through and find something you like. Get to it!

UMC20: Upcoming Shows and More Fun (Oct. 5, 2021)

You may have noticed that we have our hands in a lot of upcoming shows around Nashville this month. So, we’ve crammed as many of those artists as are announced onto a single edition of UMC20, and peppered it with some other submissions and notable releases.
