Thanksgiving Wishes to Our Original Home
We’ve had a wild ride together so far, haven’t we?
Three years ago, I had just moved back to my college town of Bethlehem, PA and saw a need for a local, original music resource in the area. Lehigh Valley Underground was developed at first to be just that; a blog highlighting the musical happenings in eastern Pennsylvania, western New Jersey, and beyond.
We had an exciting run throughout the LVU era. We covered major festivals and national touring acts. We built a brand and helped spawn more opportunities for original music to gain ears in our home region through our content and events. We won awards due to the support of all corners of the community around us.
Personally speaking, LVU was a constant amid the chaos of life changes – some welcome, others not. This community, its people, and the art created by both continually and increasingly provided a source of inspiration to do good work, the right way. All the while, the lessons learned along the journey have helped me to define who I am and what I want out of life, throughout a time that was challenging, to say the least.
On Monday, the next step in our transformation from Lehigh Valley Underground to the Underground Music Collective will take shape. I will be heading to Nashville on a permanent basis, and our content operations – which, you may have noticed, have recently focused on a wider view of the industry at large – will be based there.
I tell you this today, because I want to make one thing clear before I go: the opportunities presently before us wouldn’t be possible without you.
So, I want to take Thanksgiving Day of all days to thank you. I am grateful for your support, unwavering kindness, and willingness to share your talents with us then, now, and in the future. The Lehigh Valley will always be the foundation on which the Underground Music Collective is built, and will be kept close to our hearts and minds, no matter where and how far we take this thing.
We hope that you will continue to share your music and thoughts with us as we embark on this exciting new chapter. We hope you’ll stay involved locally, as opportunities like the Lehigh Valley Underground First Friday Concert Series are still available to you in Bethlehem on a monthly basis, thanks to our good friend and your fellow musician, Ralph Pagano. Ralph is putting the finishing touches on the December lineup, which will be announced here soon.
Also, we hope that you’ll come on down and visit Nashville. It’s the place to be, and we can’t wait to get to know our new digs over the next few months!
Thank you again, for everything. Have a safe and happy Thanksgiving! Whether in Nashville, Bethlehem, or in between, we’ll surely see you out there soon!
