It’s Halloween. Let’s get spooky, y’all.
As a matter of fact, our friends in The Parasocial Club beat us to the punch in the “spooky” department. Last week, they released a video for their new, seasonally-appropriate single, “Nightmares Are Real.”
The video employs public domain footage from Max Fleischer’s vintage Swing You Sinners! cartoon, which gives a graveyard-and-ghoul-centric visual to this bop, which combines Twenty One Pilots-esque lyrical poignancy with hip hop and pop influence, alongside accents of New Orleans-style jazz with an unforgettable horn riff.
