The Quinn’s Daily Spinn: Wednesday, February 26

Warmer and brighter days are so close, we can feel the sand between our toes. So, let’s do something beachy today!
We had the opportunity to see South Florida natives Artikal Sound System this past August, when they opened for The Hip Abduction at EXIT/IN. At the time, we remarked at the undeniable presence of frontwoman Logan Rex, and the keyboard wizardry of Chris Cope.
Months later, they’ve released their latest single, “Traffic,” a pure modern reggae tune about the rigors of feeling stuck. The tune is driven forward by a prominent bass groove from Fabian Acuña, who works with Cope and drummer Adam Kampf to set the tune’s pensive tone. “Traffic” also features a tasteful solo from guitarist Chris Montague, whose emotive wails support the narrative of wanting to escape from the “traffic” clogging up our lives.
This one will set you free, if only for a few minutes. Check out “Traffic” as today’s Daily Spinn!
