Daily Spinn: Natalie Duque, Ramita Arora Join Forces (From a Distance) on ‘Me & You’

As a challenging year begins to approach its conclusion, we’ve all had a chance to take stock of the people and things we hold most dear. That sentiment becomes amplified, with the holiday season just about upon us.
With that, we bring you a single from folk-pop songwriters Natalie Duque and Ramita Arora who — together, but apart — have been putting the finishing touches on their joint EP, Letters to Our Loved Ones. The full EP drops Friday, and is meant as an offering of comfort in light of all that 2020 has brought to us.
“This is what our friends and family needed more than anything else,” said Arora, who resides in Canada and collaborated from a distance with Duque, who hails from New York. “If we could not be close to one another in the physical sense — if we could not embrace each other to show our love — we could at the very least touch everyone with the heart of our music.”
The first taste of the EP is “Me & You,” a piano ballad which hovers toward the pop end of the spectrum. The single’s steadfast message offers hope through all of our challenges, and looks toward the light at the end of the tunnel — even if that light must be approached slowly, step by step.
