Back in March, we featured a Crowdfunding Spotlight on ‘Ten Year,’ a new musical composed by friends Wesley King and Jacob Heinz.

We’re back with another Crowdfunding Spotlight — and this time, we’re taking a turn into the realm of musical theatre.

We had a chance to chat with Wesley King, a singer-songwriter and composer who, together with writing partner Jacob Heinz, is part of the creative force behind Ten Year. Ten Year is a musical which followed the journey of a gay man as he approaches his 10-year high school reunion, while addressing the feelings we all encounter when we come to a crossroads in life.

Kristen Morgenstern: ‘I Have Many Close Family Members That Have Gone Through the Battle’

We are now within a week of the American Cancer Society’s Wings & Strings benefit on Saturday, July 28. The day-long event will feature local food, local beer, and local music from an all-star lineup of the Valley’s performers.

One of those performers, Kristen Morgenstern, typically sings with soul group Desire. This Saturday, she’ll briefly join Scott Marshall & Marshall’s Highway onstage, and took some time out to chat about the cause with us.

‘Stage on Stage’ Set to Return to Easton’s State Theatre This Saturday

In January, Easton’s State Theatre Center for the Arts Hosted a successful debut to its Stage on Stage series with an Americana showcase featuring The Trongone Band with support from locals and LVMA winners, Acoustic Kitty Project.

This Saturday, the series returns to State Theatre with a bit of folk and bluegrass flair.

PHOTOS: Touchstone Theatre’s Jakopa’s Punch Bowl at The Ice House

Last year, I didn’t have the chance to attend Touchstone Theatre’s Jakopa Punch Bowl. Lisa filled in for me and did a fantastic job, but I was bummed that I couldn’t make it, because it sounded like an interesting event and a great time.

Touchstone brings Mardi Gras to Bethlehem

After a successful kick-off last year, Touchstone Theatre presents its second concert fundraiser Jakopa’s Punch Bowl on Friday from 7-10 p.m. at the Charles A. Brown Ice House. This Mardi Gras-themed evening of eclectic music by three local bands, New Orleans-style lite fare, and all-you-can-drink beer and wine supports upcoming original works at Touchstone, including the April premiere of Dictators for Dummies.
