Late last year, Americana artist Katie Cole released her EP, Things That Break Pt. 1. We chatted with her about the EP, as well as her experience coming to the U.S. and working with some of the industry’s biggest names over the years.

Since then, the Melbourne, Australia native has kept quite busy. She has spent a good portion of 2019 touring Europe and then the U.S. with The Smashing Pumpkins, and accompanied frontman Billy Corgan on his solo run. All the while, she has been as tireless as ever working on her own projects.

UMC20: August 20, 2019

As a songwriter and touring musician, her success story is built on the tenets of hard work, a reverence for music, and a common reassurance whenever opportunities arise.

“You’ll work it out,” Cole recalls telling herself. “Say yes to the opportunity. Say yes to the right people, and you’ll work it out.”
